"Pride, Dignity and a Feeling of Self-Worth"
The Great Shopping Day 2009
124 Tehama County children were taken on a shopping trip to purchase new clothing, shoes and backpacks. Each of these children received $150.00 worth of clothing in preparation for the school year. Thank you to all of the volunteer shoppers who came out and partnered with the children to help them with selections. Thank you to Walmart and their employees for hosting the event this year.
History
Since 2004 the Back To School Project has taken over 500 local children on shopping trips to purchase new clothing, shoes and backpacks. 350 children have received free haircuts from licensed beauticians in preparation for the new school year.
In 2007 and 2009 the Back To School Project has received Catholic Healthcare West's Community Funds grant. The project has also received funding from numerous businesses, churches, service clubs and individuals.
Our Mission
To demonstrate the love and blessing of Jesus Christ to children and families, in a practical way, at the beginning of the new school year.
Cut's For Kid's 2009
173 children received a free haircut. Free food was provided by Cornerstone Community Bank of Red Bluff. There were children's games, face painting, informational booths and we were entertained all afternoon by various family friendly musicians. The day was a huge success and each of those children went to school with a fresh hair cut, looking and feeling good about themselves. A HUGE thank you to all the hairstylists who came out and made this event a success!
Madison Grace Photography generously donated beautiful professional photographs to the first 300 children. Each child received 1-5x7 and 8 wallets absolutely FREE!
